i read the news it says the law takes effect starting this year. However I'm still able to access some gambling site. Can I still place bet online?

Hi everyone,
Writing this as a PSA because of the rampant toxic masculinity culture in the army, and I find it ridiculous that many continue to advocate it.
Disclaimer: I’m not saying that all NS experiences are bad, I’ve had many nice memories from NS too, but this is a topic that should be talked about.
I’m less than 100 days to ORD and serving in an active combat unit. I’ve been on both sides of the fence (done the full training program, gone for outfields, got IPPT Gold & Marksman, etc… AND also had multiple 84 days LDs, excuse RMJ, heavy load, upper limbs, long 4, boots, & lots of MCs during my time in NS) and 1 thing that really irks me is how commanders would define “being a man” because of the toxic masculinity culture in the army.
On a basic, superficial level: going for outfields, completing training, getting gold for IPPT, getting the marksman award, volunteering for guard duties makes a man.
And on the flip side, reporting sick & having long term medical statuses would then make someone “less of a man”.
In a more complex level: I also don’t understand why NSF & Regulars like encouraging toxic lifestyle habits like smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, getting wasted drunk and passing out on the streets over the weekends, hiring prostitutes or sleeping around meaninglessly with tinder dates, gambling their meagre NSF pay at illegal casinos or even something simple like needing to swear in every sentence or shouting when angry. (no, it really does not get your point across better)
Apparently when probed “why they do these” further, it is “manly” to do such things??
And the strange is: my whole company & possibly unit believes in this warped mindset and those “chao keng” people would often be bullied by the commanders. I wonder if this culture is the same for other units…?
So my point is:
Running below 10 mins for your 2.4km and doing 60 push-ups & 60 sit-ups don’t make you a man, it makes you an athlete at best.
BUT if you can take care of your girlfriend’s or wife’s physical/ emotional/ financial/ spiritual needs, raise your children in a loving home, support & provide for your family and pets, have filial piety, treat your parents & siblings well, be responsible and accountable to your actions, keep to your words & promises, plan financially for your future, get an education, develop & build your career, etc… (you get the idea) that itself really makes a man to me.
Girlfriends of NSFs/ Regulars, I’m sure it’s more manly if your man does these, no?
There’s also a common saying that Singaporean guys personality change the most (for the worse usually) during NS and I think I can see why now... it’s all these traits of toxic masculinity and the warped idea of “what makes a man” that slowly gets into them over the span of 2 years.
Honestly I am not surprised if there’s a correlation between the high divorce/ breakup rates in Singapore, the “my crazy/ toxic/ abusive ex-boyfriend” stories, the men objectifying women, uncomfortable staring in public/ molesting/ filming up-skirt/ toilet videos/ rape cases as seen more commonly in Singapore news recently AND the toxic masculinity culture taught to them in NS.
So PSA if you’re one of them: please stop espousing the toxic masculinity culture in NS and please take a step back and re-evaluate what truly makes a man to you.
Maybe it’s just that my experience is more unique because I’m in a mono intake unit, but I highly doubt it anyway.

Well, I guess now’s as good a time as any.
Daily reminder that Epic pretty much killed off the entire SEA competitive scene (and casual playerbase) by refusing to add SEA servers for no apparent reason for over a year, and forcing the entire region of players into JP servers instead.
I’m pretty sure that there’s not a single competitive online game out there, outside of Japanese mmos, that forces their SEA playerbase to play in the JP region; reason primarily being that they’re literally on two different sides of the continent. Depending on where you live, the physical ping distance from SEA to JP = 65~200+ ping. Japan =/= majority of Asia. That’s like forcing SA players to play in NA because “bOtH aRe AmErIcAs.”
(It’s not the servers’ fault either; AWS Singapore’s been available since 2010, and unlike literally every other game out there that merges / closes servers when there’s a population number issue, they straight up excluded SEA servers for more than a year.)
The playerbase for SEA isn’t that small either, if anything else, it’s Japan that is historically known for having a way smaller PC / Esports scene as compared to the rest of the world (they focus mainly on arcade / mobile, in fact, esports prize money was illegal up till last year due to their gambling laws.)
Examples of healthy SEA > JP population: Dota 2—the SEA esports scene has been there all the way since Dota 1, and high mmr games can easily be found throughout all hours of the day, while high rank games are literally non-existent in JP, and even their pub players sometimes queue SEA during night time in order to avoid 10 ~ 30 minute queues; League—JP’s scene is pretty dead, while on the other hand, there’s a post by a riot employee sometime in the last year mentioning that Vietnam has the 2nd largest playerbase outside of Korea and 1.5 times larger than NA, and that’s not even including the other countries in the SEA region; Pubg—one of the best examples, Korea and Japan got region-locked and not even a year later, JP servers got completely shut down due to a lack of playerbase.
So, with SEA being known for having a large online gaming population, and also a flourishing Esports scene, what possible reason does Epic have for forcing the entire SEA region to play 80-150+ ping on JP servers for more than a year(!) before adding in SEA servers? And not even main servers at that, but sub-servers that don’t even work in Arena / Pop-up cups. We basically waited a whole year to play pub games when games released almost a decade ago launched with SEA servers (Dota 2—2011, CSGO—2012).
Is it incompetency / lack of research / bad management? They themselves said during an AMA that server-cost is not a factor. There was mention of lower player pop, but shouldn’t they have launched SEA servers on launch, then merged servers into Japan IF there was a sizeable population issue? Instead of not having servers for more than a year, then mentioning about lower pop? Like no shit no servers = lower player pop?
Something else I can point out is that the English SEA scrim discord numbers are pretty much equal to the JP + KR discord numbers, and that’s not including the large non-English speaking SEA population, and also the ME players queuing on SEA due to a lack of their own servers. And that is a playerbase / community grown from a region without servers for more than a year. So we’re definitely not talking about SEA being a small, small region complaining about lack of servers versus "bigger" JP.
At this point, I think it’s quite possible that if SEA servers were no longer part of JP’s sub-region but a main server of it’s own (as it should be in the first place), the playerbase / competitive scene will still survive. In fact, there’ll definitely be a larger number of WC participants in available tournaments since half of SEA can’t even play on, or have more than 100+ ping on JP servers (that’s why you see all the “1 point = qualify for Asia posts.” It’s not just a matter of server pop, it’s that a whole region of Asia can’t even / or refuse to play on that ping.)
If anything else, it’s likely the JP population numbers that’ll suffer, kind of like in Dota, League, OW, Pubg, etc. But is it worth screwing over the entire SEA region just so JP can get their queues?

Constitutional Court chief HHK Hrayr Tovmasyan has been accused of being appointed as a judge through legal violations, and other illegal conducts during his administration. Parliament pointed out 4 reasons why he should be impeached. They will hold a vote tomorrow. If 78 MPs vote in favor, the Parliament will send a note to Constitutional Court and ask the 9 judges to vote to impeach Tovmasyan. They may or may not do it.
Tovmasyan himself says it's a political move to remove him as a "barrier".

BHK chief Gagik Tsarukyan: BHK will not vote for or against the resolution about Constitutional Court chief Hrayr Tovmasyan. We don't think this is a political persecution against him, however. BHK has always been against Tovmasyan's appointment. We pointed out legal problems during his appointment. Right now let the court itself decide whether to remove him or not. (which is the purpose of this vote, to ask the court to remove him, there is a reason they call you "dod").
A BHK MP later added that they aren't sure if the 4 reasons mentioned by QP are enough to impeach Tovmasyan.

QP alone has enough MPs to pass the resolution tomorrow. However, that would require an almost-unanimous vote within the party, which may not happen. LHK also expressed support towards the resolution, which could add enough votes.

PM: There are 60 problems that are being discussed in EAEU. They'll be solved gradually. It's about the 4 pillars of the EAEU: freedom of labor, capital, trade, and human movement. EAEU admits that there are problems with these basics. To solve the problems, each member state has to synchronize their laws with EAEU.

PM: another problem is Lars border point between Georgia and Russia, which is the land point that Armenian traders use. It's not sufficient at its current state and there are always delays. This needs to be solved as part of EAEU agreement.

Deputy PM Grigoryan: gas price talks continue. We want to sign a long-term contract instead of 1-2 year. (businesses want to know how much they'll be paying in future). By the end of this year we'll have more details. Before universal energy distribution & payment rules are made in EAEU in 2025, we'll need to solve this problem by other means. Parliament (QP and BHK) is making amendments to the new strict anti-gambling laws. Each gambling company will have the ability to have 1 office in provinces, and 1 in each of Yerevan administrative districts.
Just as earlier, they can continue to have their offices in several cities that are known for recreation, gambling and tourism.
Office size is limited to 200m^2. Office must verify that a gambler's spouse didn't get a court order prohibiting the spouse from wasting family money on gambling.

Migration Agency:
~1mln people left Armenia since the independence. 42% of Lori residents left, the highest percentage among all provinces.
In recent years, the emigration is more about work related, and the permanent relocations have reduced. 95% of them go to Russia for seasonal work.
The situation has gotten better after the 2018 revolution. The migration agency will offer the govt a pilot program to help Armenians who want to return.

Earlier, health minister Torosyan sent a report to NSS accusing SOC boss Sanasaryan and 2-3 other employees of illegally helping a company, with ties to one of the SOC employees, to win a dialysis medical contract with hospitals.
Sanasaryan denied wrongdoing, pointing out the fact that SIS later found that the previous medical contracts were rigged. Sanasaryan claimed he was un-rigging it. NSS kept the charges nonetheless.

Sanasaryan lawyer says his client wasn't aware that several SOC employees were doing something illegal, no evidence that proves otherwise. "The only recorded fact shows that when Sanasaryan was hiring one of these employees, the employee disclosed that he has ties with a medical business."
Sanasaryan says that in late-2018, minister Torosyan contacted him to warn that a company that won a license, was affiliated with one of Sanasaryan's employees, but Torosyan allegedly said the company made a favorable financial offer to the hospital. Sanasaryan then allegedly checked the papers for a conflict of interest laws but concluded that it was done legally.

The defense is claiming: when the SOC employee Adyan was hired, he notified boss Sanasaryan that he owns a specific company. Sanasaryan told Adyan that the latter has to legally file some paperwork about a management transfer (or something like that), but the employee misunderstood it as "make sure it doesn't show up on legal documents".
Sanasaryan accused minister Torosyan of false testimony against him, and "now-retired" NSS Vanetsyan of giving PM a false info about him. He thinks it's because SOC was planning to audit NSS and Health Ministry.
3 employees + Sanasaryan are facing charges. The case is in court.

Minister Torosyan has responded saying he didn't give a false testimony. If he gave a false testimony it can be checked and either verified or denied; he transferred all the info he had to authorities, says Torosyan.
